History 30/ELA A30: Handed in editorials for The Book of Negroes. Continued working on the booklet about the provincial election. You'll hand it in after the break once the election is over.

Drama 20: Finished up the Speech unit by handing in the journal assignment. Since we were missing multiple students, the rest of the class was just time for homework.

ELA B10: Finished the Montgomery Bus Boycott booklet. The rest of the period was desk cleaning and/or work time for The Hunger Games - remember that reading the novel and doing the Fictionalized Journal assignment is due after the break.

Health 8: We continued with the STI Glogs. Since quite a few people had trouble with theirs, I gave everyone the rest of the class to finish/re-do them (in another medium if necessary). As such, we will share them first thing next class (Monday after the break). The rest of your Take-Home Exam must be  done for that day, so that you can finish #6 with the Glogs and then hand it in.

CE 10: Finished the group presentations about the stages of development of the Gospels, then started another group activity about the four Gospels. We started presentations - we'll finish after the break.

ELA B10: Continued working on the Montgomery Bus Boycott activities. You'll finish tomorrow and hand it in, and whatever time you have left is work time for The Hunger Games.

History 30/ELA A30: Continued working on the research booklet on the provincial election. You'll finish it tomorrow. Remember that your editorial for The Book of Negroes is due tomorrow!

History 30/ELA A30: Current Event. The Book of Negroes: handed back Literature Circles booklet. Watched the last episode of the mini-series. Remember that your editorial is due on Thursday. The rest of the time was spent doing a research activity about the provincial election. We will continue this tomorrow.

Drama 20: Handed back One Word Vocabulary evaluations. Discussed the journal for the end of the Speech unit - it is due on Thursday. Continued working on Not Worth a Continental - we'll finish up on Thursday.

ELA 20: Finished the rough draft of your Childhood paragraph and worked on the Sentence fluency booklet - we'll continue after you get back from Europe. Have a fabulous time!

ELA B10: Handed back the Images Activity and the DNA video response assignments. Started working on activities with the Montgomery Bus Boycott - we'll continue tomorrow.

Health 8: STIs - work period for Glog. On Wednesday, I will give you the first 20 minutes to finish your Glog, and then you will look at everyone else's Glogs. Remember that your Take-Home Test (other than #6) needs to be finished for Wednesday.

ELA 20: Discussed Chapters 7 and 8 of I Am Hutterite. We will continue reading it once you get back from Europe. The rest of the period was work time for your Childhood paragraph and Sentence Fluency booklet - tomorrow will be the same.

CE 10: Jesus of History, Christ of Faith: Handed back Chapter 1, Part 1. Discussed Part 2 and handed in. Worked on Chapter 2 #4 (group activity) - we'll continue on Wednesday.

ELA B10: No class today due to the Way of the Cross at the Cathedral.

History 30/ELA A30: Group discussion on the last section of The Book of Negroes. Tomorrow we will watch the last episode of the mini-series. Remember that your editorial is due on Thursday. Tomorrow we will also be doing an activity about the provincial election - please bring headphones if you can.

History 30/ELA A30: Work time for your Editorial (also handed out the Peer Evaluation sheet) - you probably won't get much more time to work on it - remember that I want it handed in before Easter break. Also handed back your History Unit I tests - great job! Monday we will discuss the last section of The Book of Negroes.

Drama 20: Continued working on Not Worth a Continental. Start thinking about doing the second part of the journal that you started at the beginning of the unit - how have your speaking skills improved in this unit?

ELA 20: The first half of the class was work time for I Am Hutterite - Chapters 7 and 8 are due on Monday. The second half was work time for your childhood paragraph. I want the rough copy to be done before you leave for Europe.

ELA B10: We did an activity about creating different types of topic sentences. The rest of the class was work time for The Hunger Games.

Health 8: Handed out the Take-Home Exam for Units 4 and 5, which is due next Wednesday (except for #6, which you will complete in class on Wednesday). The rest of the period was work time for your Glog on STIs. You'll have Monday's class to finish it, and then you'll look at each other's Glogs on Wednesday.

ELA 20: Did activities with a couple of the Japanese students.

CE 10: Finished Part 2: How Do We Learn About Jesus? - we will discuss and hand it in on Monday. Started Chapter 2 - please have questions #1-3 (up until the first group activity) done for Monday.

ELA B10: Watched the video on DNA editing and complete a notes sheet (handed in). Started looking at different types of topic sentences - tomorrow you will do an activity in pairs to experiment writing topic sentences. The rest of the period after the activity will be for working on The Hunger Games.

History 30/ELA A30: We had two Current Events, then started looking at a booklet on colons and semi-colons for your Editorial. Remember that The Book of Negroes is due on Monday (not tomorrow as previously stated).

History 30/ELA A30: History Unit I Test. The rest of the time was work time for The Book of Negroes. I agreed to an extension for finishing the novel until Monday.

Drama 20: Finished the "One Word Vocabulary" presentations. Started reading through the play Not Worth a Continental.

ELA 20: We did some ELA activities with two of the Japanese students. We will also be doing so tomorrow. Remember that Chapters 7 and 8 of I Am Hutterite are due on Monday.

Health 8: Finished discussing the HIV/AIDS quotes. Started working on the STI Research Assignment - you'll have two periods to research and make your Glog, and then you'll share your Glogs next Wednesday. I will also be giving you take-home test for the Sexuality and STI units on Thursday to be completed before Easter break.

ELA 20: I Am Hutterite - Discussed Chapter 6 Questions. Chapters 7 and 8 will be for Monday. Also continued with the interviews about the book.  The next two days we will be doing activities with the Japanese students.

CE 10: Discussed "Who Do You Say That I Am?" and handed in. Started Part 2: How Do We Learn About Jesus? We had a shortened class due to the SLC activity, so you'll get more class time to work on it.

ELA B10: Handed back the assignment for "After You, My Dear Alphonse". 15 minutes to work on the Images activity from yesterday - it is due tomorrow if it is not done. Tomorrow we will be doing activities with the Japanese students.

History 30/ELA A30: Started working on Editorial writing for The Book of Negroes by looking at how to write one. I will want your Editorial handed in before Easter break. Remember that tomorrow is your History Unit I test, and Friday is The Book of Negroes.

History 30/ELA A30: The first period was work time for either The Book of Negroes (the last section is due on Friday) or studying for the History Unit I Test (which is on Wednesday). After that we read the poem "Not Just a Platform for my Dance" and discussed, then started looking at Editorial writing for the assignment that goes with The Book of Negroes.

Drama 20: Worked on the first of two final assessments for the Speech Unit, which was the "One Word Vocabulary" activity.  First, you had an opportunity to practice in partners, and then we started the individual evaluations. We'll finish those next class, and then start looking at a play.

ELA 20: Continued working on the childhood paragraph. While you were working, I started the one-on-one interviews for I Am Hutterite. Tomorrow we will discuss Chapter 6.

ELA B10: Started working on an Equity and Ethics Image Activity - you'll get 15 minutes of tomorrow's class to finish it. After that it will be for homework for Wednesday.

Health 8: HIV/AIDS - Did an admit slip to see what you remembered from last class. Handed back the question sheet for "Beyond Fear". Discussed and filled in a notes sheet about testing and the origins of HIV. Watched a BrainPOP video to review. Started looking at some quotes about HIV/AIDS in small groups - we'll finish discussing next class.

ELA 20: I Am Hutterite - Discussed Chapter 5. Chapter 6 for Tuesday. Don't forget about the Themes sheet as well. Also discussed that I will want you to write a paragraph about how travel impacts you (generally or specifically your Europe trip) after you get back - there won't be any other ELA work while you are gone. On Monday, we will continue working on your paragraph about childhood.

CE 10: Work period for "Who Do You Say that I Am?". Please have it finished for Tuesday.

ELA B10: Work period for The Hunger Games.

History 30/ELA A30: Current Event. Watched episode 5 of The Book of Negroes - remember that Section 6 (the rest of the novel) is due next Friday (March 18th). Worked on a colonization review worksheet - I need it by the end of the day tomorrow. Remember that your History Unit 1 Test is on Wednesday.

Drama 20: More speaking activities - Gibberish Interpret and Gibberish Conversation.

ELA 20: Discussed the video "Hidden Histories: Childhood" that we watched on Tuesday and started working on a paragraph about childhood. We'll continue working on it on Monday. Tomorrow we will discuss Chapter 5 of I Am Hutterite and start Chapter 6.

ELA B10: Handed back the evaluations for the Ethics activities. Did a listening activity - I read aloud the short story "After You, My Dear Alphonse" and you filled out a worksheet. Tomorrow will be a work period for The Hunger Games for those who are here.

Health 8: HIV/AIDS - those who had not handed in "Beyond Fear" did so. Discussed HIV/AIDS terminology, stages, transmission, and prevention and took notes.

ELA 20: I Am Hutterite - discussed Chapter 4 questions. Chapter 5 for Friday. Tomorrow we will discuss the video we watched yesterday and then you'll start working on a paragraph about childhood.

CE 10: Finished the last Patriarch presentation. Started the second part of the unit, which is about Jesus. We will be using the textbook Jesus of History, Christ of Faith, so make sure that you have it for class. Started with a word association activity about Jesus, and then started working on Part 1: Who Do You Say that I Am?. You will have Friday's class to work on it, and then it will be for homework.

ELA B10: No class due to the Reconciliation Celebration.

History 30/ELA A30: Discussed Section 5 of The Book of Negroes. Tomorrow we will watch the mini-series episode. Section 6 (the rest of the novel) is due next Friday, March 18th. Remember that you will be handing in your Literature Circles booklet. Tomorrow you will also do the graphic organizer for Colonization as part of reviewing for the Unit I Test, which is next Wednesday, March 16th.

History 30/ELA A30: Finish the PowerPoint on Colonization, which is the end of this unit. I handed out a worksheet about colonization - you'll have class time on Thursday to complete it. We also set a test date for Unit I - Wednesday, March 16th. We'll have plenty of review time before then. Tomorrow we will be discussing Section 5 of The Book of Negroes.

Drama 20: We have gone through all of the skills for our Speech unit (Posture, Breathing, Resonance, Articulation, Projection), so now we will be doing some activities where we will be using what we have learned. The first one we did today was "Vending Machine". More next class.

ELA 20: The first half of class was work time for Chapter 4 of I Am Hutterite, which is due tomorrow. Then I gave back the evaluations for the Scar Anecdote presentations. Finally, we watched a video called "Hidden Histories: Childhood" and completed a sheet of questions.

ELA B10: Finished discussing the "Ethicist" columns, then filled out a self-evaluation for the Ethics activities. The rest of the period was reading time for The Hunger Games.

Health 8: Handed back 6.3 (Suffering) booklets. HIV/AIDS - "Beyond Fear" - discussed the first side of the question sheet and then had time to finish the back side - those who did not finish in class need to do so for Wednesday. Handed out the information sheet on HIV/AIDS and tried to fill in what you know - we'll fill it in together on Wednesday.

ELA 20: Had a couple more Scar Anecdote presentations. I Am Hutterite - Discussed Chapter 3 Questions and started reading Chapter 4. You'll get a little extra time tomorrow to work on Chapter 4 (not the entire period) - it is due on Wednesday.

CE 10: Patriarchs Creative Group Presentations.

ELA B10: Handed back "The Blind Men and the Elephant" paragraphs. Finished discussing the Honesty Quiz. Worked in groups on the "Ethicist" columns - you'll share your columns tomorrow.

History 30/ELA A30: Handed back "The Lonely Land" worksheet. Colonization - The War of 1812 and Road to Responsible Government (we didn't quite finish this part - more tomorrow). Remember that Section 5 of The Book of Negroes is due on Wednesday.

History 30/ELA A30: Colonization - shared the 5Ws review activity, and then continued with The American Revolution and The Constitutional Act of 1791. We will be finishing this unit sometime next week, so the unit test will be either next week or the week after.

Drama 20: Worked on articulation and projection (videos and activities).

ELA 20: Started Scar anecdote presentations - we will finish on Monday. Chapter 3 of I Am Hutterite is also due on Monday.

Please have the first side of the sheet done for Monday - we will discuss it and then you will finish the back side.

ELA 20: Handed back Childhood Memories poems - they will be posted in the hallway. Handed out the evaluation for the Scar anecdote presentations, which will be tomorrow. I Am Hutterite: discussed Chapter 2 questions and started reading Chapter 3. Please finish for Monday.

CE 10: Last work period for the Patriarch Creative Presentations. You'll present on Monday.

ELA B10: Continued with the Ethics activities - finished the Heinz Dilemma took the Honesty Quiz. Tomorrow we will do the last activity.

History 30/ELA A30: Current Event - remember that from now on you will need to hand in your reflections each time you present. Also discussed a little bit more about the TransCanada East Pipeline. Worked on a 5Ws review activity for Colonization up to this point - you'll share tomorrow.

History 30/ELA A30: Two Current Events. Finished the Quebec Act notes. Discussed Section 4 of The Book of Negroes and watched the miniseries episode.  Section 5 is due next Wednesday, March 9th.

Drama 20: Worked on articulation (video, activities) as part of our Speech unit.

ELA 20: Since quite a few students were gone to We Day, I gave those who remained an extra work class for Chapter 2 of I Am Hutterite, which is due tomorrow. Remember also that your Scar anecdote presentations are on Friday.

ELA B10: "The Blind Men and the Elephant" paragraphs - I had those who had handed theirs in do a self-evaluation and then re-submit their paragraphs. Since several students were gone to We Day, I gave those who remained a work class for The Hunger Games.

Health 8: Continued working on 6.3 (Suffering) and the HIV/AIDS KWL Chart and Quiz. Make sure all three are finished for Thursday's class.

ELA 20: I Am Hutterite - Discussed KWL Chart, Homework checked and discussed the Prologue and Chapter 1 Questions.  Chapter 2 is due for Thursday - tomorrow's class will be a work period since a bunch of you are gone to We Day. Remember that your Scar anecdote oral presentations are on Friday.

CE 10: Discussed the "Where have you seen Jesus this week?" idea - we will use sticky notes on the bulletin board. Corrected the "Exodus" questions. Continued working on the Patriarchs Creative Presentations - you'll get one more class on Thursday and then present on Monday.

ELA B10: Continued with the Ethics Activities - more tomorrow. Those who have not yet handed in their paragraphs on "The Blind Men and the Elephant" must do so by the end of the week.

History 30/ELA A30: Discussed "The Lonely Land" poem and handed in the worksheet. Reviewed what you learned on Thursday/Friday about colonization and continued with the Royal Proclamation and the Quebec Act. Tomorrow will be Section 4 of The Book of Negroes.
