Health 8: Handed in "The Media" (Project) booklet. Reviewed what was learned last class about the male vs. female brain. Read page 79-89 and worked on "The Human Body" booklet. We'll continue next class.

History 30/ELA A30: No class due to Final Exams. Remember that Section 1 of The Book of Negroes is due next Wednesday.

ELA 9: Our last class together! :( We finished writing the Love poems and shared, then I read the Norse story "The Last Battle" aloud. We topped off the semester with a final Mad Libs. All the best next semester!

ELA A10: Final Exam!

CE 8: No class due to Final Exams for the seniors (you were with Mrs. Sander instead). Tomorrow we continue Health and sexuality. Remember that your Body Image & Self-Esteem project booklets (called "The Media") needs to be handed in tomorrow.

CE 10: Finished watching "The Bible's Buried Secrets" and handed in notes sheet.

ELA A10: Last work period for Historical Persona Essay and/or Literacy Portfolio. Final Exam tomorrow!

Health 8: Discussed Sexual Intimacy notes. Read the section on Puberty in Fully Alive and took notes. Discussed the Male and Female brain and made a Venn Diagram. Reminders: tomorrow you have class with Mrs. Sander since I am in a Final Exam, and Thursday your Body Image & Self-Esteem Project handout (The Media) is due on Thursday.

History 30/ELA A30: Handed in Captain's Log. Continue working on the Fur Trade WebQuest - you'll get more time next week. Remember that the first section of The Book of Negroes (reading and role sheet) is due next Wednesday. Good luck with exams!

ELA 9: Discussed the questions from the three Love Stories, then we went to the Pep Rally. Tomorrow we will finish and share your Love poems.

History 30/ELA A30: Finished discussed the Unit 1 (Landscapes) Guiding Questions. Started working on the Fur Trade WebQuest. We'll continue tomorrow.

ELA 9: Finished reading the Love Stories and answering questions individually - we will discuss them tomorrow. Started working on writing a poem about love - you will have a little more time tomorrow and then we will share.

ELA A10: Work period for Historical Persona Essay/Literacy Portfolio/Studying for Final Exam.

CE/Health 8: Handed in Action Plans. Finished the chart about types of relationships. Read from the textbook and Fully Alive about Sexual Intimacy and wrote notes. We will discuss tomorrow. Your Body Image & Self-Esteem (the Media booklet) must be handed in by Thursday.

CE 10: Continued watching The Bible's Buried Secrets. We'll finish on Tuesday.

ELA A10: Work period for Historical Persona Essay and/or Literacy Portfolio. Remember that both need to be submitted before exams. Those who are done must use their time wisely for studying.

Health/CE 8: 6.2 - What's sex worth? Did a guided meditation activity and read a story together. We'll continue next class (please bring your CE text again). Remember that your Action Plan is due on MONDAY! And your Body Image/Self-Esteem Project is due ASAP!

History 30/ELA A30: Current Event. Started discussing the Guiding Questions for the other unit (Canadian Landscapes) which we are going to do first instead - we will go back to Canadian Perspectives afterwards. We'll finish the discussion on Monday. NO CURRENT EVENTS NEXT WEEK (due to exams).

ELA 9: Finished the last Modern Heroes presentation and handed back evaluations. Worked on reading Indigenous and Norse Love Stories individually. We'll finish Monday.

History 30/ELA A30: Current Event. Introduced the class novel study of The Book of Negroes (watched a short video about the author and read a section in the back of the book). Discussed the Literature Circles and Editorial assignments. Started reading Section 1 (due Wednesday, February 3rd).

ELA 9: Love stories - finished the Pre-reading questions and discussed. Read the story "The White Stone Canoe" aloud and discussed. Tomorrow you will read a few other stories in the duotang.

ELA A10: Continued working on the Historical Persona Essay.

Health/CE 8: Finished watching Sex Still Has a Price Tag and discussed. Please bring your C.E. textbook for tomorrow.

Health/CE 8: Continued watching the video Sex Still Has a Price Tag. We'll finish it tomorrow.

History 30/ELA A30: Current Event. Finished the last First Nations presentations. Started looking at Worldviews. We'll continue tomorrow.

CE 10: Last period to finish your Biblical Figure Research Assignment - we will share your posters on Thursday. We also discussed the outline for the "Unit Two: Our Story" Test, which will be on Monday, January 18th.

You need to know for the test:
1. Closed Book Section (no notes/booklets)
- The booklet called "The Bible" - know this booklet VERY WELL
- The assignment booklet "Finding Your Way Around the Bible"
- The sheet "Different Views: How The Bible Was Written"
2. Open Book Section (you will have the booklet with you)
- The booklet "Where to Look in the Bible"

ELA A10: We discussed the Literacy Portfolio for Term 2, which needs to be submitted by Tuesday, January 26th (the last day of classes for the semester). Then we continued with the Outline for your Historical Persona Essay.

Health 8: Continued working on the "Positive Body Image and Self-Esteem Project".

History 30/ELA B30: Current Event. Continued presenting the First Nations groups.

History 30/ELA A30: Discussed the First Nations People in Canada question sheets and started presentations. We'll continue tomorrow.

ELA 9: Last work period for the Proverbs Paragraph - those who did not finish have until Wednesday to hand it in.  Tomorrow we are starting a research assignment on Modern Day Heroes.

ELA A10: Handed in your Independent Novel Studies.  Finished researching for your Historical Persona Essay - tomorrow you'll work on your Outline.

CE 8: Finished presenting the Body Image Ads. Started working on the Positive Body Image and Self-Esteem Project. We'll continue tomorrow.

ELA A10: We worked a little more on the Word Choice booklet and then spent some time researching for your Historical Persona Essay. Monday you should be able to finish your research and begin your Outline. Remember that your Independent Novel Study is due on Monday!

CE 10: Continued working on the Biblical Figure Research Assignment. Since most people are done or close to it, we will take some time to finish on Tuesday and then hopefully have time to share them and hand them in. This may also bump up the Unit 2 Test date to Monday, January 18th. We will decide for sure on Tuesday.

Health 8: Handed back the Eating Disorders booklet. Worked in partners on finding an advertisement related to body image and self-esteem. A few groups presented to the class - the rest will do so on Monday.

History 30/ELA A30: Last work period for the First Nations People in Canada assignment. Presentations on Monday.

History 30/ELA A30: Continued researching the First Nations People in Canada assignment. You'll have one more period tomorrow to finish and then you'll present on Monday.

ELA 9: Started working on the Proverbs Paragraph. You'll have Friday and Monday to complete it.

ELA A10: Historical Persona Essay - discussed flashback and dialogue, then started researching in the computer lab. Tomorrow we will work on the Word Choice booklet.

Health 8: Discussed the Eating Disorders booklet and handed in. Started looking at how the media influences body image and self-esteem - read an article and watched a video on how magazines are photo-shopped. Explained an assignment about finding an advertisement about body image and/or self-esteem. You'll find an advertisement and analyze it tomorrow.

ELA A10/CE 10: We only had one class today due to the Celebration, so we did half and half. 

For ELA we continued working on the Word Choice booklet. Don't forget that your Independent Novel Study is due on Monday.

For CE we continued working on your Biblical Figure Research Assignment. The due date for your poster is next Thursday, January 14th, and your Unit 2 Test will be on Wednesday, January 20th.

Health 8: We finished the Eating Disorders booklet and those who were done did a Body Image Word Search.  We will discuss the booklet tomorrow.

History 30/ELA A30: We discussed how Current Events will work for History.  The first one will be next Tuesday. Then we continued working on the First Nations in Canada assignment, which we'll continue tomorrow.

ELA 9: We continued working on Hero Tales - finished the reading section and Proverbs and discussed. Tomorrow you'll start working writing a paragraph about one of the Proverbs.

History 30/ELA A30: Presented "I Am Canadian" poems and handed in questions (they were handed back at the end of class). Started working on the "First Nations People in Canada" assignment. We'll continue tomorrow.

ELA 9: Continued working on reading the Hero Tales. Some started working on the Proverbs section. We'll continue tomorrow.

ELA A10: Handed back the assignments from The Miracle Worker. Started looking at the Historical Persona Essay assignment and looking at a Word Choice booklet. For tomorrow, since we miss CE for the Epiphany Celebration, we will split our ELA class: the first half we will do ELA and continue the Word Choice booklet, and the second half will be CE work time for your Biblical Figure Research Assignment.

Health 8: Started working on a booklet about Eating Disorders - watched two BrainPOP videos and worked with the Teen Health 3 textbook. We'll continue tomorrow.

CE 10: Work period for your Biblical Figure Research Assignment. It will likely be due sometime next week. Don't forget that there will be a test on Unit 2 before Progress Reports.

CE/Health 8: Handed back the "Body Image and Self-Esteem" Research assignment.  We spent the period preparing for the Epiphany celebration on Wednesday.

ELA B30: Last work period for your "I Am Canadian" poems and questions. You will present tomorrow.  Please remember to bring something to read for Bell Work.

ELA 9: Handed back the Christmas Around the World assignment evaluation.  Started working on Hero Tales - you'll continue reading the stories tomorrow.
